Welcome to Anna Zapp Designs!
Light green hankerchief linen suit with white silk brocade halter wrap top fashioned after the suit Grace Kelly wore in the movie Rear Window.
Anna Zapp has been designing clothing and graphic arts for over 30 years. She designed all the original applique' art on John Denver's stage clothes as well as designing and constructing the garments. She has also designed for Robert Redford, John Travolta, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt and may others in the entertainment business. In the 70's and 80's she manufactured her own line of designer western wear.

Currently she teaches the "Zapp Method" of Sewing, designs embroidery disks for Cactus Punch and Amazing Designs and writes for Sew News. She has written her first book published by Krause Publications, an instructional book that teaches her methods of clothing construction which were developed over years of professional sewing. The title of her book is "The Zapp Method of Couture Sewing". Her methods are fast, easy, efficient, and sensible. The book features the construction of five basic garments and teaches techniques that are easily reproduced.

Anna has also developed a method of making a perfect pant pattern unlike any other. She has taught this process at the ASG National Convention and many times locally. She has designed a kit which will walk you through copying your favorite fitting pair of pants, without taking them apart. The instruction booklet also shows how to make style changes after making the master pattern. You can find this process in Chapter 2 of her book.

Anna also has two beautiful patterns, the Kimono and the Camisole/Sampan Pants Pattern. The camisole can be made to be reversible, thus giving you two tops in one. These pieces are quite flattering to all figure types. The kimono can be made in a long or short version and from a variety of fabrics and trims. More information for these below.

Anna's newest product is the "Iron Genie" and the Iron Genie Hanging Accessory Kit".

Anna's has written her first book and it is now available and on the shelves! It is titled "The Zapp Method of Couture Sewing" published by Krause Publications. She teaches her common sense approach to adjusting any pattern to fit your body along with constructing tailored pants, shirts, western shirts, lined vests, and lined jackets. The techniques are easy to learn and the result is a very professional finish with a ready to wear look. Once learned, these methods are easily reproduced. Anna's motto is "no thinking sewing"!
